Australian Disaster Resilience Conference: Call for Abstracts extended
The Call for Abstracts has been extended for the second Australian Disaster Resilience Conference, held 28-29 August 2019 in Melbourne.
To accommodate the busy start to the year that many organisations and communities have experienced, presenters now have an extra week to submit their abstracts for either an oral presentation for inclusion on the program or a poster to be displayed in the AIDR Knowledge Centre.
The Australian Disaster Resilience Conference abstract portal now closes 18 February 2019.
This year, the conference will be hosted at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and will centre on the theme: Are we future ready?
The theme reflects the complexities of planning and preparing for disasters when faced with the challenges of a changing climate, rapidly evolving technology and shifting demographics.
Presenters are invited to submit a 250 word abstract that shares their case studies, lived experience, research, strategies and initiatives that speak to disaster resilience and relate to the four guiding themes of the conference: connection, respect, empowerment and wisdom.
The Australian Disaster Resilience Conference is the nation’s premier event focused on disaster resilience practice and research and brings together a diverse and passionate crowd from across sectors to share knowledge and build connections for a disaster resilient Australia.
