Australian Emergency Management Library goes live

The Australian Emergency Management Library collection has finished being moved and is fully set up at the AIDR office in East Melbourne.

Since its inception in 1956, the Australian Emergency Management Library has developed into one of the largest of its kind in Australia. The library provides a national resource and reference point for the emergency management sector, governments across jurisdictions, universities, and individuals. The library’s collection contains an extensive range of academic journals and monographs along with archival film footage, photographs, and slides.

Over the past two years the library has undergone an extensive cataloguing process to inventory, reorganise, and barcode the approximately 15,000 item collection. AIDR is excited to announce that the collection has finished being moved and is fully set up at the AIDR/AFAC offices on Albert Street, East Melbourne.

The collection can now be browsed online, and borrowing is available here. A user guide to help with registration and borrowing process can be found on the AIDR Knowledge Hub. Membership and borrowing are free. Items can either be collected from our East Melbourne office or sent to you via Australia Post. To return an item, simply place it in the provided reply-paid envelope and send it back.
